Basic Firearms Safety – Hermitage

In this class students will learn the Four Fundamental Firearms Safety rules and how they are applied both on and off the range. We will discuss the various parts and controls of handguns, rifles, and shotguns. We will explain what actually happens inside a firearm during the shot process. We will discuss basic ammunition construction and terminology. Finally, different options for safe storage of firearms will be discussed. Students will leave feeling more confident in their understanding of firearms and how to handle one safely.
This is a non-shooting class conducted solely in the classroom. Students do not need to bring anything but a willingness to learn. Firearms and live ammunition are not permitted in the classroom.
